Art and Glass in Post-War Architecture

How can architecture inspire design and art? And can the aesthetics of post-war buildings, which are gradually disappearing from the face of Prague, be transferred to glass products? The lecture connected the view of architecture and glassmaking, where Vladimir 518, author of the award-winning project Architecture of Czechoslovakia 58–89 and winner of the CAA Academy Award for Exceptional Achievement, mediated post-war modernist buildings and the glass art integrated into them. Kateřina Handlová, artistic director of the Rückl brand and author of the Metropolis collection—glass interpretations of icons of Prague’s brutalist architecture, which was presented during the evening—offered the perspective of the design itself.

The event was organized by Bomma & Rückl Group.
