Bjarke Ingels (DE)

Danish star of architecture, founder of BIG studio, and one of the creators of the new Prague Vltava Philharmonic—that's Bjarke Ingels. At 27, he co-founded his first studio and four years later started building his brand BIG. He became famous for designing the Amager Bakke in Copenhagen, a power plant that generates energy from waste and also has space on its facade for recreational activities such as climbing and skiing. It is public space and playfulness that are the studio's trademarks, perhaps the most famous example being the 2012 urban park Superkilen, which revitalized a then-excluded neighborhood of Nørrebro. The Vltava Philharmonic Hall is set to become the first major Prague building by BIG, and Bjarke Ingels came to Prague to talk about the construction of this new Prague landmark.
