This study has been prepared as a basis for land-use decision-making in accordance with the current Land Use Plan for the Capital City of Prague, for the Revitalization Plan for part of the study area, and for the coordination of interests within the study area.

The study area encompasses a strip of public and undeveloped open spaces bounded by Sluneční náměstí and V Hůrkách streets (including a section of the “Little Prince” Park in Suchý vršek), continuing along Seydlerova Street to Na Zlatě Street.

The study divides the study area into building blocks and public spaces. The most significant public space is “Sluneční náměstí” itself, located at the compositional center of the area. We propose closing off the western side of the square with a building housing an elementary art school (serving as a compositional counterbalance to St. Prokop Church and the health center), connecting it to the town hall’s forecourt via a public staircase, and enhancing the square’s livability with tree-lined avenues, bosquets, and a water feature.

We propose generally better integrating the other public spaces—“The Little Prince Park,” “Sluneční náměstí–Hůrka Promenade,” and “Seydlerova Promenade,” which border the project area to the east—with their surroundings (particularly through cross-connections) and supplementing them with mature greenery (tree-lined avenues, groves, and solitary trees), street furniture, and other features (shelters and kiosks, water features, and play elements).
