The Prague Metro is not just a system of tunnels, a network of tracks, and a fleet of trains. It is also a large underground gallery! The wall tiles in our metro stations are prized around the world: colorful "lenses" by artist Jaroslav Otruba are now collected by people like paintings and displayed on their walls at home, while glass tiles by Václav Cigler magically reflect the noise and bustle of passengers who pass through the metro every day. Now we are curious to see what changes will be brought about by the new tiles designed by Maxim Velčovský and the edit! architects studio – will their design transform the newly renovated Českomoravská station into a modern spaceship? In our workshop, we will make our own model of tiles or mouldings. We will try out different materials, play with shapes, and talk about why it is important for metro stations to have their own artistic character. The workshop is connected to the exhibition Prague Tomorrow? Connected City.
For all little and big builders and creative enthusiasts, we are opening a studio on the first floor of CAMP. During the morning, children can engage in prepared creative activities or come up with their own ideas using the materials they find here. There will also be a large supply of LEGO bricks and space to build cities of the future.
