The Vltava River offers a unique view of Prague and the structures that connect its banks and enable the city to function on a daily basis. During this steamboat cruise, we will focus on railway, road, pedestrian, and tram bridges and their role in urban transportation and public space. Host Jiří Jaroš, together with experts from IPR Prague, will explore the development of these structures from the 19th century to the present, their significance for the development of individual parts of Prague, and current projects, including the recently opened Dvorecký Bridge. The discussion will also cover how these bridges shape the riverfront and how the city’s relationship with the river is evolving in the context of contemporary planning.
