How do you find your way in a city overwhelmed with information and advertising? This guided walking tour will introduce the Legible Prague wayfinding system, which unifies the navigation system and makes it easier for pedestrians, public transit riders, and cyclists to get around. In the city center, we’ll take a look at the distinctive obelisks with an orange stripe and the Prague Walker pictogram, and explain how they work and how they contribute to better orientation in public spaces. Rostislav Zapletal from the IPR Prague Office of Public Space will lead the walk from Dvořákovo nábřeží to Wenceslas Square, explaining the project’s origins and its gradual implementation. The tour will also cover the broader context of the city center’s transformation, including efforts to reduce visual clutter and unify information systems.
