Troja Basin

The Troja Basin is one of Prague’s most valuable natural areas. At the same time, wastewater from the whole city is treated here. How can we plan for climate change adaptation and energy self-sufficiency when landscape and infrastructure meet on a single island? This walk will focus on the planned revitalization of Císařský Island, the restoration of the Vltava riverbanks to a more natural state, and the integration of flood protection, technical infrastructure, biodiversity, and recreation. Architect Marek Kundrata from the IPR Prague Office of Public Space will present specific interventions in the area as well as Prague’s broader approach to the river as a living part of the urban landscape.

The walk is part of Climate Week Prague 2026.
