The Future on Display
World exhibitions like EXPO or the Venice Biennale are among the venues where nations present their visions of the future. But what significance do they hold today? And what can they contribute to architecture, public debate, or international cooperation? This discussion evening at the Trade Fair Palace will tie in with the ongoing Biennale Arte 2026 in Venice and commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Czechoslovak Pavilion. The keynote guest will be Carlo Ratti, curator of the 2025 Architecture Biennale, co-author of the French pavilion at EXPO 2025, director of the Senseable City Lab at MIT, and professor at the Politecnico di Milano. The program will feature presentations of the projects “Biotopia” by Winy Maas and Federico Díaz, and “X-UTOPIA: Vision of the Future” by Jozef Olšavský of FUTURESEARCH STUDIO. The designers from the CHYBIK + KRISTOF studio will discuss the creation of the Czech pavilion at EXPO 2015. The evening will conclude with a panel discussion on the future of world exhibitions.
