Katarina Gryvul, a Ukrainian composer, and Alex Guevara, a Peruvian visual artist, have joined forces in an evocative performance that is both anxious and cathartic. The fragile, organic tones of classical music intertwine with ambient electronics, accompanied by a visual backdrop full of distortions and glitches. The project was an initiative of Rybachka, led by Mariana Berezovska, editor-in-chief of Borshch magazine, and was further developed with the support of the Berlin festival CTM. The artists process the emotions and physical experiences that Gryvul – like thousands of other Ukrainians – went through after the outbreak of the Russian invasion in 2022.
