Multifunctional Buildings

A town council meeting in a primary school classroom or a theater or concert in a church? A variety of functions helps buildings remain alive and in use even in times of rapidly changing social needs. But how can a building be designed to function well in the long term? The spring lecture of the Rethink Architecture series will focus on finding the right combination of activities for new and existing buildings. Special attention will be paid to smaller towns and rural areas, where a multi-purpose building can play an important role as a local cultural or community center. The evening will also include a debate on the management and maintenance of these buildings. The lecture will be supplemented by inspiring examples from abroad.

The event is held in cooperation with the Rethink Architecture Institute and under the auspices of the Czech Green Building Council and the Czech Chamber of Architects. The lecture is part of the CCA’s lifelong learning program for architects and is worth 0.5 points.
