A policy and research dialog of European experts that should discuss: How will the AI-driven trends change how we live, work and move in cities and metropolitan regions? How shall planners, urban designers and real estate mangers plan to adequately respond to these changes? We will explore these questions together with American urbanist Nico Larco, Italian geographer Federico Cugurullo, Dutch urbanist Kees Christiaanse, Czech philosopher Vladan Klement, and colleagues from IPR Prague and the Faculty of Architecture at CTU.

A series of four thematic blocks will discuss how spatial planning and urban design should reflect changing patterns of behavior among residents, commuters, and visitors. Attention will also focus on the demands that AI infrastructure—such as data centers, autonomous vehicles, and drones—places on the built environment, and on how to approach these changes critically and thoughtfully.

The outcomes of the conference will serve as a foundation for teaching and research within the new Master’s program in Plánování a development at the Faculty of Architecture, CTU.
