How has the way we shop changed? From small local shops and urban passages, we gradually moved to large shopping centres and hypermarkets, which began to appear across the Czech Republic on a large scale particularly in the 1990s. This shift influenced not only architecture and the landscape, but also how we move through cities and spend our free time. During Archicraft, we will focus on the development of buildings designed for shopping, design and build our own model of a department store from a construction kit, and think about what the architecture of shopping spaces should look like today.
