Bridge arches, railway underpasses, and passageways are often covered with paintings and graffiti—but where did they come from, and who created them? Mostly, they are created by street artists—muralists. A mural is a large-scale wall painting created directly in a public space. It is often related to the place where it is located, and artists use it to express their views on current topics or issues. It is no coincidence that the first murals were created as a protest against oppression, poverty, or social inequality. In this workshop, we will create our own mural design. We will learn how to make it legible and distinctive, talk about the difference between street art and vandalism, and try working with spray paint. Let's show the world what bothers us or, on the contrary, what we enjoy in the city! We will be inspired by socially engaged street art and the exhibition Prague Tomorrow? Connected City.
